OSP Steps Up I-75 Patrols After Crashes

LEBANON, Ohio -- The Ohio State Highway Patrol will closely monitor an Interstate 75 construction zone in southwest Ohio after recent semitrailer crashes caused lengthy delays and a highway shutdown.

The patrol said the Lebanon and Dayton posts will increase enforcement in Montgomery and Warren counties beginning Tuesday and continuing through April.

More troopers will be on the highway specifically during 24-hour periods on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday weekly. Troopers said they will focus on speeders, drivers following too closely and other aggressive driving with an emphasis on commercial violations. Speed checks also will be made from the air.

Both sides of I-75 in Warren County were shut down for hours this month after a semitrailer landed on top of a car, causing injuries. Another semitrailer crash the next day shut down northbound lanes for hours.

Not that long ago, there was a Poster on here who stated he felt he was an excellent driver:rolleyes: and routinely drove through Construction zones while he was on cruise control. May have been another driver who felt the same way,
