Are there job opportunities for expeditors in the Pacific NW? Especially the Portland, Oregon area? If anyone has any info, can you please inform? Thank you!!

My experience in the northwest has always been positive with FedEx Custom Critical. A "D" unit reefer is a money maker no matter where you go. The down side is you will be turning down great paying loads back to the east or midwest. I know that carriers have tried to run a I-5 Corridor unit and failed. There are just to many opportunities torun back east to keep you making money. Anyone else out there got any ideas?

If you are running a TT you would do alright. Straight trucks and vans are not successful out there based on my experience. I seldom go there without a pre-arranged return trip. Too many good loads available elsewhere.

I have been out there and don't understand why there is not much business in the expediting area.In Seattle you have the giant Boeing Manufacturing Facility, all up and down I5 are numerous computer operations including Hewlett Packard based out of Portland OR and so on.The Bay area of California must generate a lot of freight going up that way but it must go by LTL which can do next day delivery cheaper then expediting rates. Last time in Seattle got a good paying load to Richmond KY,but nothing local.
