While a sad situation, most if not all of this type of situation is overblown by the media. Are things getting worse as reported? Maybe not. Seems like alot of knee jerk reactions when really looking at current stats.
Are Mass Shootings Really On The Rise?

Consider that most states specifically outlaw gun possession on school grounds and court houses, and that would negate the premise absent legal statute changes, which is not likely. Secondly, when a person is only lightly trained and may not possess the ability to take another's life in defense of others, they learn of this the same time that the assailant does. Lastly, with gang activity in our schools there is the possibility if an armed administrator being overwhelmed and disarmed by students. Knowing they are children may affect one's decision making process regarding weapon retention and stopping a threat posed by children. Anyone who comes to a school armed intends to die there, so their commitment to their agenda is irreversible. An administrator with any amount of hesitation will become part of the problem and could run the risk of friendly fire from responding law enforcement. This is a complex issue and not one likely to be corrected on the internet.

Yes those are all real possibilities. The alternative to that is to have a faculty and it's students that are basically "sitting ducks" to some deranged individual. The faculty doesn't necessarily have to have a concealed weapon on them . They could instead have a gun readily available stored in a safe and concealed place with only the knowledge of the faculty members. There should be an exemption or a new statute that allows a gun in schools for it's teachers and administrators.
