I Cannot Believe that Obumma had the Audacity to Claim on National Television Today that He was Responsible for the sealing of the Big Oil Leak in Louisiana! I Guess he must think that the American Citizens are too Naive and or Stupid to know the "TRUTH" about He and his Administration with the Handling of this Disaster! That's why his Approval Rating for this Incident dropped from 29% to an all new Low of 16%!!

It's pretty easy to "take responsibility" for everything when there's no consequences involved. Actually, he "took responsibility" and then implicitly blamed everything on the Bush administration. Then, after telling everyone he was fully "in charge" he topped it off saying he wasn't aware of his head of MMS being fired/resigning. Nice arrangement - he "takes responsibility" and his underlings take the consequences.

Per the LA Times, May 28th:

Reporting from Louisiana and Los Angeles —
As BP continued its effort to gain control of its untamed deep-sea well, President Obama announced more restrictions on offshore oil drilling Thursday and insisted his administration is firmly in charge of the response to the spill, now believed to be the largest in U.S. history.

Batting away suggestions that the federal response has been lackluster and that BP executives have been calling some of the shots, Obama insisted that "BP is operating at our direction."

BP officials, who along with government officials created the impression early in the day that the strategy was working, disclosed later that they had stopped pumping the night before when engineers saw that too much of the drilling fluid was escaping along with the oil.

Obama and others gave the impression Thus that the "Top Kill" was working and there was cause for cautious optimism, when in fact the procedure had been halted at 11PM the night before due to excess leakage of the mud that was being pumped in. Yet another example of the ineptness and deceit of this unqualified president.
