Wish to get into the industry!Ilooked at a couple of companies. One said they where only interested in straight trucks in my area. As
I wish to start small, with a cargo van that was out. The other accepts the smaller vehicles. However, they want me to pay all insurances from their company only! Not allowed to get any insurances on your own. You pay for their insurances weekly out of your check. Plus you pay a $1000.00 into an escrow account, that they control. Which is not an interset bearing account! Is this an industry wide practice. If it is,I need to think about my decision
about this industry. Please advise

If a company is telling you your only choice is their insurance keep looking. That isn't kosher. There are a huge number of vans out there. Some companies have quit signing them because the market is saturated. That isn't to say you can't make a decent living in a van because those who work the system well make a good living. Good luck.

Sounds like you are going to work for A-T.

Might want to look at some other companies, before you sign on the doted line. Just a suggestion
