I don't drive for the fed but any money means a lot of things to a lot of different people. If you have a lot of bills at home driving someone else's van can be a tough go. We might to be able to give a better answer if you wanted to say what type of income your looking for

I believe xiggi left out his pronoun at the beginning and was telling you he doesn't drive for FX not suggesting that you shouldn't drive for FX. That said, there isn't a whole lot of money in driving vans so once it's divided it just isn't a lot.

The common system is a 60/40 split with the 60 side paying fuel and getting 100% of the fsc money. Currently that is 18.33cpm for FX. That would amount to .85 * .6 + 18.33 which equals 69.33 cents per mile. Out of that you buy your fuel. FX used to also pay fsc on the miles to go get the load plus the miles after delivery to the layover point. Some of that is gone now as they convert to FX Feline Critical. You'll have to find out from someone still active just what the fsc terms and deadhead pay are now.

Bottom line, give careful thought and attention to the terms of any agreement and be sure to have everything in writing prior to touching a key.

Don't let him rush you.
I believe this owner tried to recruit my brother-in-law, a newbie with zero experience.
He keep giving him weird answers or no answers at all.
I called, explained who I was and asked if he would answer a few questions about the equipment and pay program.
I was polite. He was furious and hung up on me.
I would think he would be someone to avoid.

Amazing how the omission/addition of a single letter can change the whole meaning of a sentence.
