Btw, you may want to read the thread titled: "FedEx Custom Critical???? Are they what they say they are" or something. (If you haven't already) Its an excellent example of some of the best advice I got when I started: talk less, listen more. Ask questions, and if it's from someone successful, (as many longtimers on here are) remember and use it!
And something about a gift horse and his mouth...

I like to remind drivers that we are the primary sales force. I make an effort to leave a magnetic business card (with permission), thank them for choosing FedEx CC if appropriate and make sure the appearance of both my vehicle and self, represent the company well.

That is also why we always wear a CLEAN uniform when with a customer. Even if it is NOT a White Glove load. A clean neat appearance is VERY important. So is a clean truck, inside the cargo box or out. No matter how bad the weather the cargo area should always be neat, clean and ready to load.

WELCOME, and I wish you the best and great success! Some might ask why I would want another C.C. truck to have great success - he could be taking loads from ME! I truely believe that if you follow the advice of those above as to appearence and attitude you will potentially cause customers to use us more often or again if it's their first time. YOU COULD IN FACT GENERATE MORE LOADS - MORE LOADS FOR ALL OF US! So, welcome and get out here and do your best.

Wow. I read this and felt so guilty for that load we picked up two weeks ago and I forgot (aka "failed") to clean up after the last load. I was embarrassed. Thanks layout for reminding me of the importance of having a nice appearance in every possible way imaginable. With that in mind, I might even take a shower (next week)! :-D
