:DI am 57 years old.
Born and raised in the Cleveland burbs.
Dad took me to every home opener from 1959 to 1970. The
string ended in 1971 because of college.

I followed Jim Brown, Paul Warfield, Lou the Toe, Gary Collins and DR Ryan in football, Sudden Sam, Loooie, The Rock and Thunder on the Indians,
I saw a Piper BB game and Barons Hockey game at the old Arena.

Now we have King James, a legit SuperStar, in our town, the likes we havent seen since Jim Brown owned the NFL.
About time.

Oh we had some good BB players with World B Free, Brad, Austin and old man Nate.
I enjoyed watching Carlos, Joey, Thome, Nagy and Oral
revive baseball at the Jake.
The new Browns, well, we are still waiting.

So how long have I been a Cleveland Fan, probably longer than you have been alive.

Spent a lot of time at the old Stadium even got to throw out
the opening pitch one game.

Their my teams win or lose,
BUT,
I am ready for a Championship.

Thanx for asking.

Holy Thumping Batman, Cavs 2, Hawks 0.

As much as I want a Championship in Cleveland, I would hope it will include some exciting games. These blow outs
are a little dull when the final quarter starts and the entire
starting five is on the bench resting for the next game.

But, I WILL TAKE IT.

My first pro sports experience was a Barons game at the old arena. The NHL Barons, not the WHL Barons, though I did see them there too. I've heard about the Pipers but that was way before my time. Saw the Cavs at the old arena in their first or second year. I remember the Black Panthers were doing some sort of protest in the parking lot. I lived in Parma in those days and was like 7 or 8. This was a very unusual experience for me to say the least.

I wasnt aware that the NHL Barons ever played at the old Arena. About the time the new Barons arrived the Arena was slatted to be torn down.
With the Crusaders history both the Cavs and the new Barons moved out to Richfield.
Maybe there was a schedule conflict that ended up with the new Barons playing a game at the Arena before it was leveled in 1977.
Another short lived Cleveland team.

Cavs 3 Hawks 0

Well almost got a game out of the Hawks. They were close for three quarters. But I told my brother at the half, with the game tied , the Hawks were done. The Cavs can really turn on the D and usually do in the fourth.

CAN YOU SAY SWEEP!!!!!!!!

Compression of time may distort my recollection but I think their first season was at the Arena. I could be confusing them with the old Barons. It was weird how the old Barons left and all of the sudden we had 2 new teams. I know The Coliseum opened in November of 74'. I'm not sure exactly when the new Barons came on the scene now that you mention it. I never did see the Crusaders. Good ole' Nick Mileti...

The NHL Barons arrived in Cleveland for the '76-77 season.
They barely hung on thru the '77-78 season and finally ( mercifully) they were sent packing to merge with Minnesota.
I've only seen a few hockey games in my life, the Crusaders
was not one of them.
I did get to see the BlackHawks in 1980. The neighborhood and getting to our seats was tougher than the action on the ice.
