Varies depending on the company you lease on with. Many fixed expense items are treated as a deduction from your settlements. I.E. Truck insurance, workmen's compensation, Qualcomm, etc.

If I read correctly you are driving for an owner. If so, you shouldn't pay QC fees in my opinion. Drivers should pay their occupational accident coverage and perhaps tolls. All other expenses should be covered by the truck owner unless you are on the 60% side and paying fuel.

I don't know exactly what you will need because everyone's situation is different.

I spend money on fuel, service, health insurance, liability insurance, food, postage, internet to fax bills etc., phone, collision etc, insurance., and probably more I am not remembering at the moment.

One thing I think I can safely say. Whatever you think you need money wise, you probably need more than that.

I would not try to do this on a shoestring, as there are always unforseen costs.

Easy answer - for a driver

Cell $150 a month (3 phones plus internet access)
Workers comp $34 a week

Outside of that, maybe a first aid kit, cloths, personal toiletries, DVDs, and food.

QC, anything else - all on the owners dime.

I would recommend if you driver for someone, drive only with a contract, no hand shakes and have a lawyer go over it for you and explain it to you.
