Based on a survey conducted by Women in Trucking some time ago, the need for a mobile mammogram unit at a truck show was identified. Our group has worked very hard to make this possible at this years' GATS show.
We have been raising money since May in order to pay for mammograms for those without insurance or who cannot otherwise afford the screening.
As of this morning, so few people have signed up to take advantage of this opportunity that the project is in jeopardy of being a "one and done" event.
The organization providing the mammogram unit is a business and will not sit somewhere where they are not being utilized. Please share this information with your friends and colleagues. Unless the mobile mammogram unit performs enough screenings, it will not be profitable enough for them to stay and or return in the future.
