Due to the explosion I 69 and I 465 interchange will be closed
I am guessing it might be closed for a week or two, since the explosion happened under an overpass and they have to check the structure. Here is a link to what is closed. Looks Like southbound I69 , eastbound 465 near I 69 and the northbound I 465 http://pws.trafficwise.org/ipws/ci/
Needless to say it's gonna be a traffic nightmare avoid it if you can

News story
liquid propane tanker exploded on an Indianapolis highway ramp on Thursday morning, shooting a fireball of flames and black smoke into the sky and closing a section of two of the city's major expressways.

The explosion closed Interstates 69 and 465 on the northeast side of the city.

The tanker's driver was taken to a hospital with burns that didn't appear to be life threatening, said Lawrence Township Fire Marshal Dick Groves. At least one other person also was taken to a nearby hospital, he said. No other details were immediately available.

Lonnie Hood said he was working near the highway ramp when he heard the explosion.

"We seen a big massive fireball like you wouldn't believe," he told WTHR-TV. "It was a massive explosion. It just roared in my chest. It was unreal."

He said he and another man helped pull the driver out of the burning tanker.

"Me and another guy pulled him out of there and just drug him down the road here and his whole truck blew up," Hood said.

Other witnesses said they had to put their cars in reverse to escape the flames, which charred billboards and a cellular phone tower.

"People near the explosion got out of their cars and ran from the scene," witness Sage Kopronica told WISH-TV.

Groves said the "humongous" explosion happened after the truck rolled, with the cab and tanker separating and catching fire underneath an Interstate 465 bridge. He said the fireball could be seen and the heat felt two miles away.

"The flames were licking the bridge all around it," Groves said.

State Police Sgt. Anthony Emery said the highways near the explosion scene would be closed until engineers reviewed the bridge for safety.

IBJ will update on this story later today.

I can not remember a single time going from southbound i-69 to i-465 east bound, that I have Not been passed or had a t/t tailing me on this curve. I take it at a safe speed. This is just one place of many that are the scenes of accidents because of plain carless driving! No excuse for the driver to be going fast enough to tip the truck. His cdl should be revoked. Drivers like this are the cause of the average drivers and lawmakers being so quick to blame truckers for all the road problems. These less then professional drivers need to be removed from the highways.

Sounds like the truck was on 465 not the overpass which is the ramp you are referring to. I always think it is a bad idea to jump to conclusions. Yes it could be from speed or something but also could have been caused by a mechanical failure of some sort. Jumping to conclusions is a major cause of truckers being blamed for things.

The keywords are..."care and control of your vehicle" If something comes up and you can not keep your vehicle on the road..you weren't in control to begin with.....many of us think otherwise...

Not to say older people can't drive but he was 73, I am kinda wondering if he had a small stroke or heart attack or other health issue. I haven't heard about anything yet
Someone said they saw him driving erradic before the incident. I was thinking maybe a texting driver. We shouldn't jump to any conclusions and I am sure there are plenty of investigations going on currently!
