Mentoring Program

I would like to see if anyone has been in a Mentoring Program or has been a Mentor.

I saw a list of Mentors at a carriers office but that was it. Maybe it could be started in the trucking system. I would thing that each carrier would have a program up and running.

I wouldn't say i am a mentor, but i have 3-4 guys that contact me from time to time that have read my post here. While I certainly don't pretend to know a whole lot about this business, i can hold my own, but with my previous business experience and owning businesses, I guess my my post on BUSINESS (not the soapbox lol) make a pretty good impression for some.

I do what I can when asked and i am the 1st to admit if I don't know the answer..........And I will also tell anyone that want I do might work for me, but it might not for you...some things are basic, some are personal and will only work for a certain type of personality...But I will always help if I can...As far as the carriers having a "Mentor" list, i can see it both ways, since we are not the carriers employees, it might open doors that they might not want to open....maybe not, i am not sure.... I guess it would be a trust deal, ad with my carrier, i have a good level of trust wity everyone from the recruiters (Hi Anne) to dispatch and load planning and anyone else I feel the need to enteract with....

The last owner we drove for, he volunteered us to be mentors for his new recruits. He would ask us if we mind that he gave us our number. Which of course I didn't. I'm always happy to help when I can. I may not know everything, but I will give the best advice from our experience. Which I think any advice is better than none. Well maybe. ;)

The owner we are with now, doesn't do that. He is more business orientated and deals with it himself. But, if he ever ask the similar as the owner before, I will be more than happy to help.
