What makes a person be a compulsive gambler, alcoholic, drug addict, pedophile, thief, embezzler, etc., knowing that acting on their desires carries with it various forms and levels of social approbation? They had the urge and decided to act on it, either disregarding the consequences or perhaps not considering them. And the sex drive is so strong, it's difficult to resist.
I knew a guy in the Air Force who was as queer as a three dollar bill, the kind that everybody knows is gay--the lisping, effeminate kind. Don't know how he made it in, seeing as this was long before DADT, but he did. He was found with gay pornography and eventually kicked out. My church decided to help him. He eventually went back home to Indiana. I'd like to think he successfully resisted the urge to commit homosexual acts, but I'd be surprised. Any homosexual who can resist his perverted urges is a strong man worthy of respect.
Here's a video recommended to me by the operator of that other expediting forum. He recommended it to mock me, as in, "Here's how backward your thinking is on this matter." (We have this same debate over there.) But I loved it. This should be shown to all young people.

Your views on God are incredibly narrow minded as are your views on homosexuals. There are some people that may have been born gay but just because a person is gay it does not mean they were born that way. There are plenty of examples of people having sex with someone of the same gender for fun or money. There are people that lived a gay lifestyle but changed later. There is absolutely without a doubt a segment of gays that were created. Just respect the idea that not everyone has to think like you. If you are gay just live your life the way you want but then they need to realize other people have different beliefs and values.

Addiction is very sad... it hits close to home for me also. NOONE chooses to be addicted...it happens slowly.
Homesexuality, being a choice or not is a whole 'nuther topic.
