Long time Lurker, First time poster

A little about myself....

I am 36 unmarried, no kids, with 17 years experience in the trucking industry, although I have none in the expedited side. (31 if you consider that I have wanted to be a trucker like my dad was since I was 5!)

I Live in the Milwaukee Metro area, and after being a Dump Truck owner/Operator for 5 years-previous to that I had driven OTR for about 5 of the previous 10 years.- And I have decided that I want to try something different and expedited seems to be the way to go.

I would entertain the possibility of driving team, although solo is my first choice.

I have an ABCD Haz-mat, and doubles/triples endorsed CDL and a valid Med Card.

I have No felony convictions,-although I do have a misdemeanor conviction from 2005- So lemme ask this;

-what kinds of qualifications do I need to be hired as an expediter?

-I would also prefer to drive for an owner-operator, what are the chances of this happening?

I would say on the surface you look qualified although you may need a waiver for Canada with the misdemeanor.
I would look through the classifieds here at some opportunities along with studying this site for the basic ins and outs of the business.
If you like what you see, then let me recommend attending a workshop on 5/20 in Indy. You will learn quite a bit by going to one as there are different speakers and reps from different carriers there.
