Layover in SC

I'm stuck in Blacksburg, SC for the time being. This is a damned if you do/damned if you don't place. Loads are coming across from at least 2 hours away, but on different sides... Charleston, Asheville, Greensboro. If I move, I leave Charlotte and the other areas in the opposite direction. Also, I figure the next best place to sit would be KY, which is some serious dh. Unless there are some other ideas, I'll be here to chat if someone else is in the area.

Looks like I made the right decision to stay put afterall. I found a semi load that will just fit in my 28' box going to Laredo. That'll be my first trip there in 4 to TX throughout my expediting career. Wife is nice enough to let me get a hotel room, seein as I don't have a/c :7

Tacos anyone? :+

Currently, I spend off time during the day finding a load. I try to get naps to keep me fresh. If I'm not moving at night, I mess around on the puter, get a shower, and sleep.

Hi tennesseehawk,
Are you currently under contract with a company? If so, do they allow you to find your own freight? Where and how do you do it?
Also, what kind of "puter" do you use? I am trying to read-up on how computers can be wireless, wireless service providers and the costs involved.
Thanks, Laura

Hawk,
Always use extreme caution when entering truck stops between exit 5 in NC and exit 63 in SC. Speeds of more than 1 MPH might cause you to accidentally crush a LOT LIZARD--HA< HA
Pappy;) ;) ;)
