Yep, really depressing. Used to be one of the very best of times for running non-stop . But to be sitting at all this week, especially at current rate bids?

I was speaking in general, the whole industry as it is....the very reason I asked you to let me join CRE was I felt you could keep me moving [paying my bills], which you certainly have done in spades. Please don't take my comment personally....was simply a general observation about the decline in rates pl Judiis huge increase in units out here.

10-4. I missed the "generality" of your post.

So after dropping in Memphis I got a good paying load up to KC. Dropped 18:00 last night and hit the Ameristar Casino. Buffet was $20 but found out it was 50% off on Tuesday for over age 50. Plus cashier informed me that I had $3 in points. So enjoyed a $7 dinner buffet. Then hit the slot floor, played only one machine. Started with $100 and cashed out at $150. So cheap dinner and walked out a winner!

I see your point as applies to many of us. I was just talking to a CRE teammate Ken & his Parrot remarking on how difficult it must be for Murray since he can't send us anywhere that would leave us 1500 miles from home.

I know you live by Michigan City but where are you now?

Spartanburg.....one of the things affecting me this morning is I went to bed with 5 other units @ this small t/a lot and woke to count 11, then driving a few blocks to fuel I saw several others at restaurants. Been here many many times throughout my career and never have I seen but a few here. It's not like it's Ohio or detroit

I know Murray is under tremendous pressure, any veteran of this business is now. As a driver I am continuously reminded every day how much things have changed out here. Young bucks will probably never know what it was like when rates were fair, work was plenty, the condition of the roads better and open roads with much less traffic/crazy ass drivers - running half as far and hard for our paycheck as we do now. OVM and a few others I "grew up" with were right and lucky enough to be able to retire from this hamster wheel. Youngins in this business will say then " get out old man" to me now but I say God help them if they reach my age and have to depend on this business with a mortgage, elderly parent or other loved one to care for, let alone kids who can't seem to make it on their own in their 20s even, then top it off with owning a vehicle that breaks down every 2 months!
