Jon Mosier and FL Knoxville do it again

I'm just about to complete another completely smooth, efficient and trouble free transaction with Jon and FL Knoxville. I'll be picking up an 8500 at the end of next week. Jon still is batting 1000. You won't find anyone any better to work with who also knows this business and how to put together an excellent truck.

Don't forget about their service department. We had a truck that had a fuel lift pump go out and they got right on it when the truck got there. Knoxville has been one of the leaders in this business since I started in 1995. I wish they had a shop in Ohio.

Yes, their service department is very good also. My other Sterling had a body panel misaligned and when the passenger door was opened it cracked the lower cowl. The body shop got a replacement, painted and prepped it, then put it away until the next time I was by there and had time to get it swapped. I had similarly excellent service from the mechanical side of the shop when I was by there with a few items needing repair, replacement or adjustment.

Once again, FL Knoxville overall and Jon Mosier specifically, have done an excellent job and demonstrated why they've earned and deserve such an excellent reputation.

LBD. "Another smooth deal" At what cost to you! Most dealers would bat 1,000 if you paid full list price or close to it. Oh, discounts for fleet owners? If you shopped around you would of found out how good your deal really was.

Dont forget to collect your $100 spiff everytime you make a pitch for Ol John. If he makes a sale from your connection!

I made an attempt to deal with John and he does not like to deal on his used equipment. Used trucks are the biggest money maker a dealership depends on, next to their parts & service dept.
(Another lost deal)

When I did my research comparing one dealership against another comparing pricing unit availability etc, and we even had one dealer's finance manager try to steal his salesman deal while he was gone that day when we stopped to look at a truck. It did not take long to get rid of four dealers with-in a couple of weeks.

If your salesman is batting a 1,000 as long as your happy and can afford his deal, (great) But for the rest of us we have to be more careful to save that extra several thousands of dollars by comparing pricing.

Yes Knoxville FL has a great service dept. And John is a good salesman he knows his business, but in my opinion he is a little arogant, but that also could mean he is confident.

While not exclusively,we have been buying trucks from FL of Knoxville since the mid-nineties. Our original salesman was Dan Schultz when he had the gravel pit in Massilion, Oh. Some might remember those days.

Flash forward to more recent times, we have had excellent dealings with John Mosier. I suspect that some may confuse his attitude for telling it like it is, rather than what someone may want to here.

We have bought several trucks this year, and I feel very comfortable for what I paid and our teams are happy with my purchases. Service before and after the sale was excellent.
I like a easy transaction that can be completed in less than a half hour without a bunch of bs or someone trying to selling me something else that I don't want or need.

Again, from my prospective and experiences, I would highly recommend them.

TERESA, I have to agree that this IS NOT one of the best shops to find yourself near when in need of repairs!!

We recently were coming in to the Knoxville area and had been noticing that the truck was not running as it should be. We called ahead to FL of Knoxville to see if we could get someone to look at the truck, as we were under a load. We asked to speak to someone in the service department. The receptionist asked us why we needed THAT department. After having gone into a bit of detail with the receptionist as to why we needed someone in service, we were tranfered to the SALES dept. Apparently they thought we needed to buy a truck. After repeating the small bit of the story to a salesperson, we were FINALLY tranfered to someone in service. We AGAIN repeated our truck problems but this time in MORE detail. We were told that this was indeed a problem but that they couldn't get to us until Monday. This was a Thursday. We explained that we were under a load and could they at least take a look at it for us as the truck is still under warrenty. The service person was indeed rude and said "didn't you hear me, I can't even take a look at it until Monday at the earliest". I thanked him for his time and hung up.

I then decided the best I could do was to call the truck mechanic we use near our home and describe the symptoms to him, hoping that he may be able to at least tell me what the problem might be. He knew exactly what I was describing and talked me through an easy repair that took all of maybe 15 minutes. NO PARTS REQUIRED!!! I then relayed the story of what I had just been through with FL of Knoxville and after he finished laughing told me that the quality of mechanics these days at places like that had to come into SERIOUS question if this was the type of service they were dealing in.

SO, TERESA, in answer to your question, NO I AM NOT SATISFIED WITH FL of Knoxvilles service department, and WOULD NEVER recommend them to anyone in their right mind. While I can understand a shop being busy, I CANNOT understand a shop that has wrench holders that can't even diagnose a loose hose coupling over the phone. I guess, as with many of these wrench holders, if they can't get your truck into their shop for at least 2 or 3 days they just don't have time for you. A simple repair these days has no value to a dealership unless they can get your truck in and diagnose problems that DON'T exist.

Dave that was in Brimfield, Ohio. Dan was the Man and the sign is still there. Freightliner of Knoxville should of contract Dan and ask him to come back and sell for them again out of Brimfield.

The guys at Fyda Freightliner in Youngstown, Ohio always listen to what I have to say about whats wrong with the truck. They have helped me many times over the phone to help me get running again. Dave Young and his staff always make things right.

Opps........you are correct on Brimfield. I just remember going there right off of 76. Back of course in the Roberts day.
That was our first FL truck purchase.
Major advance from the UD's and converted Fords.
