Is Walmart controlling our food supply

How Walmart is devouring the food system | Grist Here are some interesting stats on Walmart. I have noticed that milk at Walmart in Chattanooga has been 4.55 a gallon to 4.65 a gallon. But if one goes down the street to Rite Aide or a Kangaroo gas station, you can buy it for 2.99 a gallon, so whats up with that? Low food prices is a leader to get you in the store.

I have also noticed that the local Bi-lo grocery stores are cutting prices. IMHO Bi-lo has been non competitive for a long time and seemed to be out of touch. If you shop much , prices on food are climbing like crazy. Bananas were 39 cents a lb for ever, now they have inched up to 57 cents a lb over 2 years time. I know, your saying no big deal. Check again, whats in your wallet? Bread and sugar are out of sight, my old favorite peanut butter is becoming a luxury item at 7 bucks for a decent size jar.............OK, I rant, but he or they that control the food supply will someday control the world and I think it is closer than we think.IMHO One more thing, you have noticed the jars, the boxes and sizing are shrinking and costing more, don't you like that...?

I try to either catch or shoot as much as my own as I can. IF I were home, that amount would increase dramatically. I would grow food as well.

My freezer is stocked with deer every year which doesn't really help me on the road much until I upgrade some stuff to where I can transport food easier.

I also keep an eye out for farmers markets along the roads. When I was in Miami a few weeks ago I got some excellent fruit from a roadside stand for a fraction of what it would have cost me at Walmart.

Here in NH milk is about $2/gallon at Walmart or more around $3.50 at smaller stores in my area. On a side note, if the gubment wasn't subsidizing milk, it'd be up around $8-$10 a gallon or so.

Watch youre seeds or you wont be growing for much longer Monsato got its way several years ago. Thier GMO suicide seeds only germinate once and the pollen cross germinates verry nicely causing your heirloom plants to produce sterile seeds.
Get caught with thier GMO growing in your fied even if wind carried pollen onto your field you loose everything you own.
And now with Codex Alementarious the government agentcies, chemical, and pharmacutical companies and megafarms are all one cozy orgy with the intent to controll our food suply.
Food for thought Monsanto and IG Farbin have been in bed with each other since 1967. IG Farbin was the company that made the chemical weappons used against our troops and the gas used to an estimated ten million people in the gas chambers at Auschwitz and many more and other FEMA camps. Monsanto is the bigest and most notorious Agriculture suplier both plant and animal and they patent the GMO genetic code. Are you seeing the connection yet?

Now add a mega chain store that moves in and under cuts thier competition, the local grocery and mercandise stores. They close down so whats to stop them from increasing thier prices. How many of you guys delivered to a Walmart or Sams club D.C. The bottom line is our country in fact world is run by a select chosen few extremely wealthy families and our political systeme is a smokescreen.

so, food control is here, but not in the way you have described it yet. Like no more backyard gardens and such.

Try more like popuation controll food controll has been here for many years the goverment hasent started the rationing yet.
Why do you think the cheap foods that anyone could afford like Peanut Butter, milk and bread are getting insane. All three are connected to Monsanto/IG Farbin seed, feed, and growth / milk production hormones, livestock medications, and insecticides.
Monsanto engeneeres seeds to be Round up resistant So if an overspray form a farm using roundup travels over a farm not using Round up ready will have thier crop wipped out. As we all know roundup kills just abbout everything. Hmmmmm, Gee Monsanto also cranked out the defoiliant Agent Orange used to kill off the jungle cover in Vietnam resulting in allot of vets developing cancers and deformed children.

Yep, none of this has gone thru in HR 875, but the idea of controlling food and stuff is insane to say the least. When we mess with existing genetics of anything, the spin off can be deadly.

Do you guys ever read anything else besides US news? Are you that narrow minded? My God look around the world and see what is happening... Peanut butter had actually been dropping as the peanut crop is recovering ...you've seen nothing yet the drought is getting worse in some areas .....

I didn't mean to be rude...just some focus too much on local stuff....what happens 1/2 way around the globe has some effect on us....like Japan just eased up on their US beef import rules...our ranchers get top buck exporting beef...guess who'll be paying for that....???.....
Do you see any real snow cover this year?....Nope....not yet...moisture is way down that will make the midwest drought MAYBE worse then last year....I predicted a 4$ loaf of bread wasn't too far off...
