Is My Carrier Socialist?

I fear the carrier I drive for may be socialist. At times they appear quite capitalistic, but when the rubber meets the road so to speak, their socialist side comes out.
Last week I took a run to North Dakota, knowing full well I wouldn't likely get anything coming back out. I didn't have a problem with that because the load paid well and Minneapolis wasn't that far away.
I delivered the load, on time, and called the shop, on the outside chance I might get some deadhead money. I was about 100% certain I would not, but if you don't ask, you don't get. I was told no, just as as expected. I am an independent business man, so this is fine with me. I deadheaded to Minneapolis and waited. and waited some more. I waited in all, 48 hours, not much for some of us, too long for others. On the third day I deadheaded down to South Beloit, and with in 20 minutes of arrival, received a load offer going from, roughly, Milwaukee, to,roughly, Asheville, NC. (aproximately 700 miles). I quickly accepted it and began to head to the pick up. About 15 minutes into the trip, I get a call from dispatch telling me this is too long a run for me to take all the way, so I am going to be cross docking in Kentucky. I explained I had just made this exact run (same shipper, same consignee) about 6 weeks ago and this issue was not brought up then. I was given the standard BS run around, blah blah blah, and given the location of the cross dock.
As I have a nose for bull excrement, I quickly surmised what the issue was. I did an inquiry on the QC and found a glut of vans in the area I would be cross docking and in several areas a distance a way. I knew it! I said to myself. I have a load, somebody in kentucky does not have a load, so let's take part of this guy's load and give to the guy who chose to lay over in a bad area! Socialists! Socialists I tell you! Maybe you right wing wack jobs are on to something..It has permeated even our industry! We're doomed...
