To be exact you don’t even have a clue what is going on in Iraq today. The Iraqi government wants everyone to leave. We have to unless they agree to let us stay because we are operating under a UN resolution, not a declaration of war. When Bush said “mission accomplished” he was right, we did what we were allowed to do – change the government but also many forget that Clinton was the one who set the official US policy on Iraq which was to change the government of Iraq when we can, which also included invading it. They were under a truce, not a sovereign country as the excuse has been made, and they invaded Kuwait which forces them to this truce.

Also just an FYI, the war started in 1939, not 1941. We were at a de facto war with German since 1938, some of the underhanded stuff we were doing to them behind the scenes was really war time activities. The war’s end was not the end of the fighting and killing, by chance there were a lot of GIs killed in Japan and Germany up until the troops left in masse, which was started in 1946. The treatment of Japanese POWs were far better than the Germans got and the Russians didn’t give a d*mn about anyone, they still killed even more after the war – something like 2 million Germans never made it home.

The difference between Iraq and Germany is that Iraq’s rebuilding was accelerated at the expense of us, the people of the US. Germany had to pay us for the war and I think until the reunification of Germany, they were still paying us. The other difference is that once we ‘defeated’ Germany, we had complete control of the situation in regards to the borders and the people. Iraq we left the border open, we allowed Syria and Iran to send people and aid to help the ‘terrorists’ in Iraq and this is where the problem was. There was no Civil war, there was no big blow up between sects but the press and idiots have made it out to be a mess. Again if you don’t know, we may be out of there within a year or less.

At this point we are facing a bigger challenge in Afghanistan with Pakistan instability. I think even more troops there won’t help as much unless we get assurances from the new Pakistan government that they are in this too. But again if we bring all the troops home, well then we will end up hearing the complaints from the press and the left that we have too many troops. If we use them at the border, then we will have Mexico claiming that there is an impending invasion and bring the UN and world court in on the mess to get the troops off the border.
Again for the most part we can care less about the UN unless it full fills The USA ad Israels purposes.Again our troops should be defending our country. I don't see any other country's troops defending us?....By the way why did our Air Force give 5000 talibans a free lift out of Afghanistan? What was the purpose?
