I just read that Iran has been dealing with Turkey and Brazil about their enriched uranium.
Of course the leadership of Iran sidestepped the UN and the US and dealt with these two countries. They ignored our threats of sanctions which really are empty threats while trusting that Turkey, Russia and China will run interference for them within the UN security council.
The amazing thing is, Obama, the root cause of Iran's move came out today speaking at West Point the US "cannot act alone in the world and pledged to shape a new "international order" as part of a national security strategy to seal his break with Bush-era policies." Which makes me wonder doesn't he have a clue what's going on.
But the problem is appearances mean things, despite Obamabots claiming that they don't. Obama seems to be a weak president on the international stage and it has looked that way for a long time. He lacks the confidence that he seems to show (or the media shows us) behind the scenes. He trashes the "cowboy" diplomacy while threating countries with empty threats, like NK and the sinking of the SK navy ship. His need to pick and choose allies openly should have the country concern because of a trust issue.
The world doesn't take us seriously, under Bush as under Reagan there wasn't any chance of predictability in certain matters and this led many to take us seriously. But the sad thing is what Bush started with multilateral talks and insisted that take place regardless, has shifted to now exclude us completely with Iran, and soon to follow NK.
