When I open any site on my laptop, the site comes up minimized. Then I have to click the maximize button at the top. Any way I can make them come up maximized? Thanks.

Maximize the browser window, and then use the FILE|EXIT menu to close the window. Do NOT click the X in the upper right corner to close the window.
Press F5 to refresh the display.
Open up the browser again and it should be maximized. After that, it should always open maximized, and you should be able to use the X in the upper right hand corner to close the browser.

Thanks, Turtle, but it didn't work. If I can catch the 12 year old kid down the street I'll ask him. Thanks again.
Try this:
Make the browser window the size you want. Hit f11 and it will maxi-maximize. Hit f11 again and it should return to your pre-sized dimensions. If that works close out the browser window and do a test opening. Does it open to your pre-defined size?
If that doesn't work you can try sizing the window and hold down the ctrl key as you close the browser window.
There are actually many tricks to try to fix this problem. if none of those work and the kid up the street is nowhere to be found you can google "ie opens minimized" and probably find a solution.

Thanks Scott101. Those didn't work either. Will have to flag down the neighbor kid or go on line to mystuffopensminimized.com and see what I can come up with.
