hydralic brakes

I would be interested to hear from anyone operating an under 26000 # gvw C unit with hydralic brakes, as to the suitability of hydralic brakes for this application.

Also any feedback as far as maintenence and repair intervals .

I've driven several trucks with hydraulic brakes. Not enough difference to note. Only bad thing is if those brakes go out, you have no brakes. If air brakes go out, you usually have a warning before they lock up.

And the good thing is with 9 years driving hydraulic brakes, I've never had my brakes go out. The other good things are they seem to last forever, stop quicker and generate no interest at weigh stations which makes the inspection really quick.

We have had hydralic brakes on 4 trucks over the last 13 years. Never a problem.

In addition we allways get an exhaust or engine brake.Seldom need new linings. Each truck has been run about 400,00.
