One word of warning about these Internet connected monitoring systems, If your system connects to the Internet, USE A ROUTER as a firewall, and implement a Lengthy password with numbers, letters and charachters. There alreday are issues with these systems and with Hackers accessing the controls and wreaking havoc. Its very important that you use the stiffest security passwords, the Router and keep the computer up to date on Security software from the manufacture, and the PC vendor....
Now that said these systems are getting very nice with whole house temp controls, Video Surveillance, Fire, Smoke and Burglary all available and can be monitored from your Cellphone, PC or Tablet....Ive got a couple cameras installed at my house that I access via cellphone and it works great....or my mom can hit a channel on the TV and the cameras are also there...
You can get these installed by the regular security vendors, Honeywell, ADT etc....but again, CHANGE THE FACTORY PASSWORDS, and change them a couple times a year...and I higly recommend a good quality back up power system for this controller, with enough battery power for a couple days operations....
