Over the weekend the nut cases cheered Hillary on about her comments;
"The Democrats know what needs to be done. Again, we're working trying to try push this agenda forward. The other day the oil companies reported the highest profits in the history of the world. I want to take those profits and I want to put them into a strategic energy fund that will begin to fund alternative, smart energy; alternatives and technology that will begin to actually move us toward the direction of independence."
What is really bothersome about her comments is the fact that she has absolutely no right to a penny of after tax profits and by making an attempt to grab something that she has no right to, puts every business in jeopardy.
This pretty much nationalizes Exxon and the oil industry, taking the rights away from the stockholders and stops the flow of profits to the investors. For some reason many think that these profits are just kept by the company and spent on lavish parties and drunken orgies but the truth is companies like Exxon and Pfizer (just an example because they maintain the biggest profit percentage of any Pharma company) do not keep 100% of their profits but pass a lot of it back to the investors who are the retirement funds of millions of Americans among the other millions of people who hold stock. Imagine what would happen if these retirement and investment funds would have no dividends, how many people would lose out from years of investing their hard earned money.
But it gets better
Even though Exxon made more profits this time than last, they also paid a lot of taxes, something to the tune of one hundred billion plus dollars.
Should we force them to give up their profits when they already pay this amount of taxes?
What will happen to the tax money that they give back to the country, do you think that this will be now reduced to the point that they will no longer bother to try to make a profit?
Imagine if all companies had a cap on profits in which the excesses would be stolen by the government, what would happen to our tax revenues than?
The reason Exxon has been making so much money while the price of crude on the “world market†is going down is simple, their business model is working.
What I mean is that they own a lot of oil, they own the refineries and they own the transportation and have the distribution system. They don’t have to buy a lot of their oil like other companies who have to buy on the open market so this gap is shown as profits.
Is this a bad thing?
Nope not at all, it is a very good thing.
But let’s look at another issue about her idea of stealing profits and why it is really a smoke screen and a lie; the use of stolen profits to fund investment into smart energy, alternatives and such that will never ever happen.
I bet you that the oil companies would love to cut out the drilling, transportation and refining process for something simpler and more cost effective to produce a commodity to sell to us. A lot of research in the past 80 or so years has been done by the oil companies, not only on how to extract more oil but also the alternatives. Some of these alternatives like Synthetic fuel just evaporated because of the government stop caring and others were ignored, like WVO for diesel.
We have had oil ‘crisis’ since Carter was in office and nothing has changed since then. We are always fooled by the do gooders in Washington but once they get elected, they forget what they promised; Hillary is no different – except she is true evil.
Don’t let Hillary and other socialist/liberals fool you about the reason we don’t see more use of Bio diesel and other alternatives, it is NOT the oil companies that are stopping this, it is all the politicians and especially Hillary and other socialist/liberals who have a clear agenda and don’t want us to have them.
Why?
Simply because the states and feds make money off of the price of oil through the different taxes that are applied to the entire process of oil production, almost every step of the way there is some taxes made. If we have smart fuels, energy alternatives and such the consumer we will see more taxes to make up lose of tax revenue from oil production because states like Alaska whom derive a majority of its revenue on the actual oil leaving the ground not at the pump 3000 miles away will be the first to the floor of the congress trying to find ways to get that money back .
Now this may make little sense to most, how can good things turn out to be bad things in the long run? Well you need to understand that tax revenue is power for the politicians and it is power that is used to control the people and get more power. We give these tools to a select few who we elect. It is not that they want to easily give up the power but they take more time in trying to find ways to gain more power at all levels.
The grass roots movements like the ones promoting Bio-fuels will be disappointed with the quagmire of tax reforms and regulations that will soon happen to capture that tax revenue that is being lost. I find the idiots who jumped on the bandwagon (and have never had anything to do with alternatives until they saw $$$$) to make a buck by publishing all kind of information about using WVO, home brewed ethanol and other home concoctions may have already caught the eyes of the bureaucrats and politicians who may be thinking about taxing restaurants so they return the waste oil to a licensed waste company to ensure that the waste oil won’t be used for anything and preventing us from buying grain so to tax us more.
Many would say so what, this is big evil oil and no one should care. Well I say everyone should care.
As for Hillary, look at her former attempts of healthcare, she excluded the experts, the professionals and the people who knew what to do to fix health care at that time. She was illegally empowered to make changes to our government, she is pure evil and I see that many people who worked for Billy boy now are speaking up against her. Just remember that if she gets into power, she will use every means to destroy the people and companies that didn’t capitulate to her power.
As for alternatives, it is the same as conservation and ‘global warming’, don’t let the government do anything to help this, be part of the solution in any way you can. By not taking action on anything and allowing government to do something is the same as giving up your rights.
