Good repair facility in MI?

I am having trouble finding a good mechanic in SE Michigan. Can anyone recommend somebody? I am very unhappy with Freightliners and the large garages that keep you truck for weeks and never seem to have the parts you need and charge big money for labor and seem to always charge the MAX hours per job.

I am slo sick of the mom and pops that may be a little cheaper with labor but have burnouts working for them and not getting the truck fixed right the first time.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

I guess not. Now if you were in western Michigan I could help you. When I had my FL70 I would take it to an independent repair facility in Holland MI. My old confused mind fails me in sturring up the name but it is located near the old Holland truck stop at M40 and I196/31. There are some used trucks for sale right on M40 and the repair facility is in a new larger building to the west down a side road behind the used truck part of the business. If Highway Star is around, he was looking at a used truck there and may remember the name. They do everything from minor repair to major overhauls and they have a very good reputation. AAAAAAAAH now I remember K&R truck sales and repair.

Arrow Truck Repair in Detroit is THE BEST place in SE MI I've found. They've been in business since the 20s or 30s. My neighbor used to have a place he took his tractor; but after I told him about Arrow, he doesn't go anywhere else around home. They take care of you, and remember your business. I take it in when I get home, tell them I don't need it for a few days, and it's usually done the next day. Just good people!

They're on Fort St, just north of the Ambassador Bridge, on the east side of the street. Always give em a call first to make sure they do something.

Another place that isn't bad is Davenport Truck and Trailer in Dearborn Heights. But for anything major, I definitely take it to Arrow.

What kind of work are you looking to get done? John's Standard Diesel in Toledo is good for oil changes and general work, breaks etc. Scott's Truck repair in Toledo is good for body work, reefer work and some general work. I live near Monroe MI and use those two places most of the time. Both go the extra mile and take GREAT pride in thier work. Layoutshooter
