How you going to handle EOBR since you're running over 10,000 lbs ?

You sound like you should run vans.

Yellow ones.

I believe we used to have a fleet on here with Topkicks and immigrant drivers.

He's out of business.
And that was before EOBRs.

I think it make sense to run a fleet within a Carrier and not as a separate company. Outsource that paperwork and compliance to all you is watching that your trucks get loaded and running consistently

Yeah, pay a fleet to handle your compliance.
Double your chances of getting caught.
Your guys can get caught, or you get caught when the fleet gets caught.
You are still responsible because the first thing a driver will do is sell YOU down the river.

You need to take accouple hundred dollars and have lunch with John Mueller.

Non-compliance is not the future.

Trust me.

On truck age.
New trucks will not guarantee you'll get good drivers.
Older trucks will almost guarantee you won't.
There are exceptions, but I believe it's a good rule of thumb.

Thank You.
You seem pretty smart too.
You'll just learn there's no short cuts.
This game takes smarts, patience, some luck helps.
Very few get rich quickly.
Be straight with people, treat your drivers well, run a good operation, and it'll come.
Most people can buy trucks. It takes more than that.
The driver part, earning trust with shippers, and hard work is generally what will get you success.
People want consistently good results.

I appreciate your feedback . My biggest selling point is the low miles 292k for a 2004 truck means it was driven barely .25k in a yr
That also means it was most likely driven in an intercity operation. 292k tough stop and miles, unlike 292k over the road miles. Certainly something to consider.

Yes it means more wear on most components, transmission, brakes, tires etc. Total mileage is an important perimeter to consider when buying a used vehicle. I just wanted to point out that a low mileage vehicle isn't necessarily the best buy. How it was driven, who drove it and how it was maintained are very important.
