I want to mount a generator and wire in front of a cargo van. Where I can do it? Or where you done it? Thank you!

You could get a hitch receiver and mount it up front. Then find a box with hitch and lock it down. You could also run the wire zip tied to the frame to the middle of the van and drill a small hole with rubber grommet to run your wires.

Thanks but I don't want to deal with that. I don't have time and tools. I look for a shop to do it .

Not knowing the type of truck you are mounting this on and how old it is and the mileage or the added weight that you will be hanging approx 2 foot out in front of the bumper...make sure you have at least good front springs and invest in a good set of upgraded shok absorbers or you will find the front end of the truck riding on the "bup stops" and the tires wearing really quick...

It is not just a matter of mounting the generator and hitting the road....if you are in a van and it is a few yrs old and has a bunch of miles, I'd invest in a good set of front springs in the next larger capacity then you are running now along with new bigger HD shocks....it will be expensive up front. but cheaper in the long run...tires a few times a yr will cost more....

You didn't mention miles , but I'd be replacing both front springs and shocks with something from the 10,000 gvw cutaway that ford offers...if they will fit in the spring pocket on the chassis....

Most people don't do this and they have no idea why they are eating up front tires....especially with the shocks going bad real quick and the tire bouncing and flat spoting the edges...causing vibrations

I sometimes wonder which is better, up front or in the rear? I have a freind who has one in the rear, mounted in his hitch receiver, that swings away to the side by just pulling up on a pin.Really nice. And then I have another freind who has one up front. The only disadvantage to being up front may be the noise and exhaust fumes.Trying to decide what to do, which way, myself.

Sometimes having my generator mounted outside would be a good thing...but for the most part, i have no issue with putting it on the ground and chaining to the tire.....

That's what I really want to do, have the suitcase-type generator like what you and OVM have. But room to put it when not used, loaded with 2 skids, presents a problem. And I dont think it is good for an inverter-type generator to be out in the weather when going down the road.
