Lousy **** liberal morons. It's absolutely ridiculous just like many of the things they pay for that have no business being paid for out of taxpayer funds. And they wonder why they are broke.

If i like the idea or not does not matter. If they can truly afford it on the local level without going to the state or feds for money so be it. If their voters continue to elect them that is their choice. I don't live there and have no say in it.

If it just stopped there that would probably be one thing. Most of the "free stuff" starts small and swells into massive government programs. Someone at some level will sue because someone got it for free and they want it as well.

No...much to the surprise of others who have responsed! Lol! It's an unfair burden to taxpayers whether it's at federal or local levels. I support anyone who decides to change genders but depression or not it's their responsibility to pay for any surgeries. Lots of people suffer depression some from body issues, what's next state funded boob or nose jobs bc people are unhappy with their body?

Don't you just love Government decision making:

The city's Health Commission voted Tuesday to create a comprehensive program for treating transgender people

First the vote to approve the program

Her department needs to study how many people it would serve, how much it would cost and who would perform the surgeries.

Then they decide to study how much the program they just approved will cost.

Humble: that's every bit as nuts as businesses that figure out the cost [like cybersecurity] and then decide if they should do it or not.
If every decision is solely about money, we're doomed.
I agree w/ Pandora - there really isn't any evidence other than psychology to say transgender people should surgically alter their bodies. I don't think psychology is as much science as guesswork & theories, when it's my tax money, I want more proof.
