1st, i am new at forums as well as expedited freight. please keep that in mind if i look like a dunce.i am leased to a company that will allow me to find my own freight if they do not have something for me.they even gave me a site to search, "getloaded.com", however, more often than not, this site does not have any loads either. my question is where do you go to find freight when your company has none for you?

I have used getloaded.com and these www.expediteloads.com and OOIDA's MembersEdge.

membersedge is about 18.00 a month, getloaded is around 25 or so and
expediteloads.com was about 50. but they all have a try out time.

load boards are the hard way to work good luck.

I have getloaded through the company and pay for truckersedge on my own. In addition to those two, landstarbroker.com is free. Most of the loads posted are either too heavy, too large or way too cheap to fool with. Once in a while you find a real jewel in there. I find them useful mainly when I need to get home for something specific and am willing to run for fuel and lunch money to get there. Other than that time or two a year I don't get much use from them.

do you have your own authority, insurance etc. or is the company you're leased to going to broker a load for you that you find somewhere else?

There are decent loads on many boards. Sometimes it takes two loads to obtain a great rate. It does take time, but if you are sitting for days, it might be a good alternative.
Also, some of the best loads never make it to a board, so any relationship that you can develop with a good broker is worth the effort.
