I heard from a Security Guard at UPS Today That Fed-Ex was Trying to Buy UPS! Any Truth to that Rumor? Personally, I don't think it would Happen But you Never Know!
Mind You, I Just heard this a Couple of Hours ago and Don't know if it's True or Not so don't shoot the Messenger! Just Askin!

I don't think it would be possible with the anti-combines act...it would be a virtual monopoly...for one or the other...

Wouldn't happen as long as Obama is president. The Fed represents as a whole, non union labor. The teamsters represent UPS and control Obama. Do the math. Won't happen any time soon.
Plus....The Fed doesn't have the cash to buy them.

But Dave if UPS wanted to buy FedEx, it is possible to have a hostile take over with the Treasury department behind them.

I would agree that UPS with federal backing would have a better chance at buying the Fed verses the other way around.

Well the amazing thing is as usual the unions are pulling the strings on the FedEx/UPS fight and the real danger like having the US government back a take over would be to have congress write a law specific to help one company rid itself of it's competition. I feel this puts one more nail in the Union coffin and our economy in the long run.
