Fed Ex O-O T-Val trailer. Saw this today where we loaded. Can't believe the customer loaded this trailer. P1090872.jpg

Was it loaded with reefer freight? Even dry freight would probably require tarpping the first four pallets.

While it does not look good at first glance, there are a lot of reasons why the customer might load that trailer. Unless all details are known, we should not be too quick to judge.

Speculation:

- The incident may have happened on the way to the pickup and all parties are aware.

- The load is temperature controlled but the range may be very wide and the cargo not that sensitive.

- The damage on the outside may appear severe but from the inside it is OK enough to proceed with the shipment.

- The shipper may not normally load such a trailer but this might be absolutely-positively-overnight stuff so they go with what they have.

- A temporary fix using a can of foam and roll of duct tape may have been made that was acceptable to all parties for this one run before a proper repair could be made.

One could speculate a collection of negative circumstances too but the point is, it's all speculation. Details must be known before accurate opinions can be formed.

Did you talk to the driver? Is there additional information?

Whatever the reason its a bummer, Ive seen guys drop trailers and go off to dinner, and imagine coming back and seeing this...with the knuckleheads that drive around in truck stops like its Talledega....stuff happens....speaking of the canned foam for leaks it works pretty darn fast and is cheap....I had a Penske truck that had a leak and I stopped in a Walmart and crawled over the freight, did a nice job and used a trash can bag to smooth it out and it fixed a leak that Penske tried to twice....
