fan interference

when i run my 12 volt dc fan in my sleeper it gives me static type interference on my tv screen which is 110ac...why does this happen and any way to stop it?? thanks

Assuming you have a 12 volt outlet in the sleeper,you might try plugging into the outlet in the cab. This is what I did to eliminate interference.

It happens because the TV is cheaply made (not meaning it is a cheap TV) and there is no proper shielding built into the TV to prevent picking up interfirence. The fan's brushes are causing the problem but there is not a lot can be done to fix it. Try pluging it into the cab, see if this helps.

An electric 12 volt line noise suppressor will work as well. Actually required on some aftermarket dash radios. Radioshack or any auto electronics place will have them.
