Express-1

Can anyone tell me anything about Express-1?

I've made it a point to get out and ask around before signing on. I'm hearing a lot of good things about them. Seem to be driver friendly. Can anybody tell me anything about them? Good, bad, or indifferent? Drivers are saying good things about them.

I guess they recently expanded or acquired some other company or something which I imagine is a good sign.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

I'd love to hear comments on them also, especially from those who are or were with them.

Actually, it was another company that acquired Express-1. I can't recall the name, but I read they operate down south mostly, and have also acquired an air freight company out of Kentucky.
I've driven with Express-1 a number of years back, and know they are mostly regional. Teams with them were hard, as we got mostly single type runs. Though the 200-300 mile runs were plentiful. Looking to get back with them I asked another of their drivers how he liked them, and he told me basically that they've grown in the last 6 years, have plenty of business, yet still treat you as a person and not a number. There are those who would say "it's a business, I AM a number not a friend"... I believe with Express-1 you can have it both ways. They have the freight, and treat you with respect.
Hope that helps.
