Cargo Van "Entering Expediting with a Past DWAI: Seeking Insights and Advice"

Hello everyone! I have a question regarding getting involved in expediting. Around 6 and a half years ago, I received a DWAI (which is a less serious offense than DUI in NY), but I haven't had any other traffic incidents since then. I'm wondering if any fleet owners would be willing to hire me despite this past infraction. Alternatively, if I decide to start my own expediting business, would I be able to secure insurance, find a carrier, or work with a dispatcher? Or should I consider pursuing a different path altogether? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

In most cases a DUI (or equivalent) will stay on your MVR record for 3-5 years, both on your insurance and at a carrier. Talk to a recruiter at some of the larger carriers and see what they say
