Electric concept car throws commuting a curve

Looks like another little "Death Trap" to me. While better than they used to be due to a better understanding of crash dynamics, little cars are less safe than big ones. That is the fault of the Newton guy, he just had to invent physics and screw everything up!! I don't understand the love affair with electric cars. The batteries are a MAJOR polution sorce and we are having problems generating enough electricity as it is. Windmills and destroying more rivers are not the answer and the "Green Meanies" won't allow us to build MORE nuke or coal plants to INSURE a proper suppy. Then we have the problem on how insure that these electric cars pay their fair share of road taxes, as of now, they pay NO road tax other than the fee for registration.

That is a VERY good thing. Now we need to start work on 50-60 new nuke plants and put in a used fuel rod re-cyling system similar to how the French do it.

Well the Smart car came out of the crash testing and roof crush tests rather highly rated. In fact it was highest rated for roof as it took more force to crush it than other vehicles. You must remember that if you know how to react in a situation a small car turns and handles much faster than a larger buggy thereby allowing for avoidance of accidents. Commuter cars are coming and a lot will be electric based. More and more small cars are coming. I used to love my cooper powered MG and leave corvettes sitting in traffic as it could go through traffic easily, where they could not and it got over 30mpg to boot!

Up here they are building several new generating stations run by natural gas. I would have thought to utilize methane (completely renewable fuel) which should be cheaper but so far no one in the energy business is doing anything with it. There a few municipal govts utilizing methane from garbage dumps to power small generators but nothing significant.
