Anybody ever have to remove the rear door hinge pins and bushings? My right rear door is getting harder and harder to close. There appears to be a metal mesh around the pin and this has worked its way loose and is slowly working its way out.

Do I need to cut the top of the pin off and then drive pin down or can I just drive pin back up from the bottom?Do I have to remove the door? Thanks.

I have a '93 E150 that gets a liberal dose of WD40 on the hinge pins twice a year...once just before the snow flys and once again in the spring. All of the cargo doors swing nicely.

I have tried oiling. The problem is the wire mesh.I was able to scrape a piece of it out.It lookes like drywall sanding screen.I don't know if its a washer or maybe a spacer or even part of the bushing. It appears to be made of copper or brass. It's suppose to be there because all the hinges have them.

Bryan,
See if the dealer can remove the pins.

I know with GM they can and it helped a freind with his GMC.

I got a replacement pins for my hinges that I will have them remove the old pins and replace them with the new ones. I plan to cross drill and sprial the new pins so grease will get to the right places.
