Dui in a box truck

Drunken driving charges have been filed against a southern New Jersey man who authorities say was driving a box truck that was on fire and missing its front tires.
Lakehurst police tell the Asbury Park Press that 36-year-old Michael Newmon of Manchester was hanging partially out of the cab window because of a shattered windshield when he was stopped around 3 a.m. Saturday.
Authorities say the truck had tree branches caught in it, with fire and smoke coming from below.
Because the truck was driven on its rims, police followed the marks left in the road and traced Newmon's journey about 15 miles to the Route 70/Route 72 circle in Burlington County. They found the truck had driven across the circle, struck a tree and drove through bushes.

WOW DUDE....That was a hell of a night....

I think that man was released from custody and just tried to park a big-rig next to us at a truck stop (reminder why we need to avoid truck stops). He came barreling into the parking place next to us, and with just a couple of inches to spare on each side, basically wedged himself between our truck and one other at an angle such that he could not maneuver out.

But that did not keep him from trying. I jumped out and told him to stop. He did with no arguement or further attempts, thank goodness. I then moved our truck safely away while he used two places to get properly parked in one.

Had I not intervened, jazzed as he was, this young man would have kept on trying until he hit something. Once parked, he was grateful and came to our truck to say so.

Lakehurst, New Jersey? Maybe Mr. Newmon was participating in a historical reenactment of the Hindenburg disaster. "Oh, the humanity!"
