Droid or Iphone???

I just got a call from verizon saying if I sign on for another year, they'll reduce my data plan by $9.99 a month, is this a scam to get me on a reduced plan or is it legit?

It is for real, they want to make sure you aren't going to leave.

edit: $299 with a 2 year contract is insane, what happened to free when signing your life away.

Phones are actually quite expensive for the cell phone companies. The article below lists the component costs, then there are all the other expenses cell companies have to pay for. The companies are selling these phones at a loss to start with under a contract. Motorola makes their profit off of selling phones and Verizon makes their profit by providing the service not by selling phones.

Phones are expensive but I paid $299 for a new model Motorola Triumph with no contract from Virgin Mobile. That shows the greed of the contract companies.

It turned out to be a scam. Now I can't upgrade my phone until next February.

They basically paid me $120 over the next year to stay in Palm Pre Hell. arrrg I'm so stupid
