Driver ID

What do you as drivers, particularly solo drivers, carry that identifies you as the driver of the white van with the stickers on it. If you're in Wally World and have a medical emergency, what ties you to your truck? How do people know who and what you are? Thanks. :+ :+

My new handle may become SmartA@@ after this, but who cares. If I am at Wally World and have a medical emergency the last thing I am worried about is if folks know my white truck with stickers is mine. Once they save my life I will tell them or when I am dead I will not care. In that case they will run the plate or VIN number and tell my kids the payment is late. Oh well I see humor in it, I guess if you are wanting a good answer you don't. As for Thawk, his truck has a co driver who may or may not claim him. However I am betting Thawk would not be caught dead at Wally World. He would rather spend his down time at the Football game. :)

I want to keep going here so that I have a second paragraph. Now truth be known, I never even gave the question you pose a thought. I shall now go do that. I am thinking a little note in the wallet and maybe something special on my keychain.

Yep, leave it to Raceman to get to the 'nuts and bolts' of it.. LOL...

Seriously, this is an issue I'm sure most have not thought of... for me, it's not about what happens to me afterwards, but how would my family find out. I'm sure the company would check Qualcomm for last location of the missing truck, but what if you were out of service? How long would it be before the family found out where you were and what had happend? This would be undue hardship on them.

Perhaps we could add something to our wallets, a note with our ID that lists our company, next of kin, pertinent phone numbers, etc..

Just in case..

Thanks for a sobering thought.

After a number of days of pondering this and a horrible ride into Chicago, where I came close to needing ID, I came up with my own little system.

I placed a card in my wallet with all the needed info on it and then reduced that down and laminated it and put it on the key chain in my ignition switch. I never take that key out so it works for me. I also then enlarged the list and put it on the side of a cabinet in my sleeper. Although I still hope nothing ever happens to me at Wally World, the info is now on my person and in my truck.

Thanks to whoever started this thread for giving me something to think about that may one day save my life, my truck or atleast keep my kids informed of what happened to me. That will be important since they only track me down when they need money or one of my trucks to move furniture. :) I thought changing diapers was a pain. Adult children still make a SH*&TY mess, it just is not in the pants.

Well Here goes. Express-1 gives you a ball cap with your name embroidered on the back, and there name on the front. They offer T-Shirts, and polo shirts, Jackets ECT. for you to purchase. When I'm working I wear these shirts and Jackets,so the shipper/Consignee knows who I am. I wear them all the time I'm out. Thats what I do.

I believe that if you sign on with some Company, you should be proud to wear there colors. I'm very happy with Express-1 and look forward to driving for them for the Long Term.
Be Happy/ Be Safe...Butch :D :D :D
