DPF Cleaning

Question for those running DPF trucks.
Have you cooked your filter based on mileage in the owners manual ?

I asked a trusted service manager about scheduling mine in per mileage in the operators manual.
He said "Why ?"
I said I like to do maintenance by the book.
He recommends waiting until I have to .
Since I prefer not touching something that is working, I'm wondering if I should follow his advice .

I can't ever recall a customer actually requesting this service.

What mileage interval does your manual recommend?

250,000 miles. Volvo 500 hp. Worked very easy. St trk, tandem. Avg load under 2000 lbs. heaviest load, 12,000 lbs every couple of months.

I've done one parked regen. No idea on how many passive regens.
Never had a printout. Just keep all the tanks full and roll.
Changed screen filter in neck and filter in DEF pump. Had dealers that thought that was overkill too. All per mileage in book.
Have 245,000 miles now.

That's kind of my take. I feel the first time someone goofs something up, the next guy goes and makes it worse. Snowball effect.
Thanks, I value your opinion and think I will stretch this out, being more alert for signs of issues.

The DD13 will not accept a parked regen until the system calls for it, you can't just manually regen at a certain mileage. At least that's the way I read it in the manual.

The truck demanded the parked regen.
I'm thinking I may have shut it off during a passive regen.
One in 250,000 I can live with.
A Volvo rep walked me through it.
When I was done I asked if I was good for another 200,000 miles.
He replied " Well, you'll still have to do oil changes."
