I hope the expedite carriers get serious about passing along a fair fuel surcharge to O/O's. The pittance we get now for fsc is a joke. If fuel prices continue upward while rates stay low, it only hastens the demise of many good expediters. Hasn't most of the profit been sucked out of this industry already?

gracie told me the company she is temping at has a 25 cpm fsc. too bad no expedite frt.
yet the price of crude is down. da** stock speculators. this begs the conspiracy question.....if speculators buy "futures" on the high side do the oil companies pass along higher prices to keep the stock up?
no real problem for the fsc and the rates as long as gas was 2 bucks a gallon. whats the equivalent diesel price about 1.20?

Please let me try to help.
If i'm not mistaken , you lease on to FXCC , that's gives you .31 C discount on the fuel at the Barstow TA.
C.A Fuel Tax , that come str8 out of your quarterly taxes ,(there for you actually don't pay), is : .437C
if you are getting just around 10 MPG .
than the actual cost for fuel for you is : 21 C/M.
it's up only 3 to 4 C in the last few months.
and your rates probably gone up in a greater phase .
it will hardly effect your cost of doing business.
it will however greatly effect your cost of DH , driving without a pay, out of route millage ,idling & reefer if apply .
