Detroitification

When President Johnson started his "Great Society" entitlement program, Detroit was set up to be the "Model City" as to what we could expect the benefits of the program to be.....guess we need to pay a bit more attention to the crap that president obama is doing...since his "re-investment act" is much the same as Johnsons plans, except on a grander scale....and no one can deny that Government employment has skyrocketed in this adminastration.....

There is a perfect example of this - the detroit water department. The city 'owns' and runs it but they dictate to everyone the price of water. With 2 out of 5 being paid and not working, it is an amazing illustration of union stranglehold on the region.

Our new governor was thought of the man who would get rid of this notion that Detroit is important to the rest of the state but it seems he will not fight to remove the water department out of the hands of the city or cut much of the funding that has allowed them to be like Berlin in 1945.
