Dems vs. Repubs

I am definitely a conservative however I find fault on both sides. This administration is an abject failure on sovereignty and immigration laws. This administration is a failure on crime and punishment. So were the last several and so the next several will be also.

You've been in the koolaid again on taxes. My father is an excellent doctor. He's retired now but while practicing did well. I guarantee you that even with the very best tax person available a significant amount of taxes are paid on $300k. I've seen it in print on the forms and seen the checks being sent in. You've been fooled by the brainwashing of Obamily and the rest of them.

Here's the real story. April 15 comes around and the return is filed and you are right, they don't pay anything and sometimes get a refund. The part Obamily doesn't tell you is how that happens. It happens because they've sent in quarterly reports with large estimated tax payments for each quarter so the taxes are already paid. The refund, if any, is a tiny amount compared to the total of the 4 quarterly payments.

Lest you think all the other "rich" people truly don't pay and my dad just was unlucky and had poor tax prep I'll dispel that for you. My mom did my dad's taxes. Doctors are audited on average about every 7th year. My dad got an audit notice in his eigth year. The letter said he or his representative should bring all records etc. and plan on 2 days and perhaps 3 for the audit. The audit day came and my mom went downtown that morning after breakfast. She came home at lunch and didn't leave. When we asked why she wasn't going back she said she was finished. The guy spend about 90 minutes and told her she had the best records and returns he'd ever seen and to get out so he could go on to somebody they might get some money from. That was 1963. The next time my dad was audited was.... NEVER. I'm sure that auditor put notes in the file saying as long as my mom signed as preparer it was pointless to call her in.

So, I can appreciate your opinion but I do know differently first hand.

I believe President Bush 43 has done a good job sure he is not perfect. He has expanded our influence in the middle east by over throwing the govt. in Iraq. and giving us another country to establish a base in. The freeing of the Afgan people also was a good thing.
This way we can have influence over two neighbors of Iran.

We have not been attacked since our country went on the offensive and put boots on the ground.

President Bush 43 should of been more fiscally responsible at home and not allowed the Congress to continued to expand Gov. on Domestic issues.

The President has appointed conservative Justices to the courts.
This will have a positive impact for years to come.

I Disagree with President Bush 43 on some infringements of our privacy and freedoms. But President Lincoln and F. Roosevelt did so also.

I support both Democrats and Republicans if they are conservative.

robsdad, I understand where you are coming from but the problem is that in order for us, the citizens, to actually prosper, we need tax replacement - not tax reform.

These guys in congress know that the average person does not know how the budgeting system works or how we are actually paying taxes because the citizens hear rhetoric from the left leaning media that the rich need to pay more and that (in this recent case) the government will give back to stimulate the economy.

It does not matter who has been in congress, it does not matter who says they can do a better job, as senators standing up on the stage, the people think that they can do a better job than what we have but realistically they are what we have.

If you want change, vote. If you want to embrace a better tax system, Fair Tax

Hey LDB:
Been on a 4 dropper to Miami, Fl., so I haven't been back on here. I did not realize the gold spoon comment would hit you so close to home. I apologize, however it does not change my feelings toward that subject. But anyway hope you accept my apology and we will move on. Agreeing to disagree keeps the blood flowing and its good for the heart. Have a great day.

No need for an apology. I just was explaining that the awful "rich people" you speak about aren't getting the free rides you think they are. My dad always paid a significant amount of taxes, not because he had poor tax representation but because even with the best tax prep available there were still taxes due.
