China and cost of goods

AUGUST 1st to Sept. 1st

Well over 50 yrs ago I knew a lady who would not buy Christmas gifts if they were made in China. Her daughter will recognize her in the following.

Did y'all see Diane Sawyer's special report? They removed ALL items from a typical, middle class family's home that were not made in the USA .

There was hardly anything left besides the kitchen sink. Literally. During the special they showed truckloads of items - USA made - being brought in to replace everything and talked about how to find t hese items and the difference in price etc..

It was interesting that Diane said if every American spent just $64 more than normal on USA made items this year, it would create something like
200,000 new jobs!

I WAS BUYING FOOD THE OTHER DAY AT WALMART and ON THE LABEL OF SOME PRODUCTS IT SAID 'FROM CHINA '

FOR EXAMPLE THE "OUR FAMILY" BRAND OF THE MANDARIN ORANGES SAYS RIGHT ON THE CAN 'FROM CHINA '

I WAS SHOCKED SO FOR A FEW MORE CENTS I BOUGHT THE LIBERTY GOLD BRAND OR THE DOLE SINCE IT'S FROM CALIF.

Are we Americans as dumb as we appear --- or --- is it that we just do not think. The Chinese, knowingly and intentionally, export inferior and even toxic products and dangerous toys and goods to be sold in American markets.

70% of Americans believe that the trading privileges afforded to the Chinese should be suspended.

Why do you need the government to suspend trading privileges? DO IT YOURSELF, AMERICA !!

Simply look on the bottom of every product you buy, and if it says 'Made in China ' or 'PRC' (and that now includes Hong Kong ), simply choos e another product, or none at all. You will be amazed at how dependent you are on Chinese products, and you will be equally amazed at what you can do without.

Who needs plastic eggs to celebrate Easter? If you must have eggs, use real ones and benefit some American farmer. Easter is just an example. The point is do not wait for the government to act. Just go ahead and assume control on your own.

THINK ABOUT THIS: If 200 million Americans each refuse to buy just $20 of Chinese goods, that's a billion dollar trade imbalance resolved in our favor...fast!!

Most of the people who have been reading about this matter are planning on implementing this on Aug. 1st and continue it until Sept. 1st. That is only one month of trading losses, but it will hit the Chinese for 1/12th of the total, or 8%, of their American exports. Then they might have to ask themselves if the benefits of their arrogance and lawlessness were worth it.

Remember, August 1st to Sept. 1st !!!!!! START NOW.

Send this to everybody you know. Let's show them that we are Americans and NOBODY can take us for granted.

If we can't live without cheap Chinese goods for one month out of our lives, WE DESERVE WHAT WE GET!

Pass it on, A merica ...

Well instead of doing it for just 1 month why not try to do it all the time.

I should open a store that says on the front..."Made in the USA." I wonder if it would be busy.

There is a store in New York that only sells made in America products. Everything has to be made in America even the glue or whatever to make it, including the packaging for it for it to reach the shelves of this store.

If we had the capital Tracy and I would like to open a store that only sells items made in America. I like that concept. But no capital is to be had. Maybe I should get a grant from the government to open my store, yeah right.

Dont know how many times Ive picked somthing up in a store and seen Made in China and just set it back down. Made in China has saved me buying alot of stuff. Thus saving me money.

At the rate the Retardplicans and Dumbocrats are going in their quest to destroy our economic system, All those American made products from the states will carry the "Made in China" label in the not so distant future.

Don't buy them. Problem solved.

If the quality is as good and it's cheaper, I have no problem buying Chinese-made products.

The problem that needs to be solved is the higher cost of doing business in the states.

Pay $2.00 a month or use slave labor. Problem solved.

Slave labor would be the American who's slave to the 30 year mortgage that financed that "keeping up with the Jones's" lifestyle.

I always feel like I'm getting screwed when I see "Made in China". I don't care how cheap the price is, its still crap.

You're also getting screwed over by the unions and onerous labor laws in this country. If a manufacturer can make the same item cheaper and of the same quality over seas, I say more power to them.

That's right, It's all labors fault. All the problems our economy faces is the unions fault. All 12% of the American work force.

12% has a ripple effect on the other 88%. That ripple effect would be the perpetuation of the inflationary cycle they helped create.

IMO its a bit of both.

Kraft bought out the UK chocolate firm Cadbury's :)() and though assurances were given at the time that jobs were safe it really wasn't that long before they closed all the factories and began production in Poland or somewhere like that in Europe.

Cheaper labour and no unions speak volumes

Agreed, But you also have to blame all the other factors at the same time. All I keep rading is how it's all labors fault we are in this mess, and that simply is not true. IMHO. :D

The other factors would include the Retardplicans and Dumbocrats who continue to put the US at a competitive disadvantage by implementing stifling regulations and pandering to the union bosses.

That article about Chinese cars was written in 2005. I guess they never made it.
