You know, this situation really sucks.
Two hundred for deadhead pay..
Then you have wait of 2.5 hours..
Then the load ends up cancelling..
The $200 and time was worth the deadhead only if you were also getting the load.
You have to wonder, at which point does it become worth the shipper's while, to find another carrier?
If the charges keep ticking away, due to the shipper's own incompetence, they're deeper and deeper into paying out for this shipment.
Why pay all the charges if it turns out to be more cost effective to just hire a different carrier and start from scratch?
To be fair in this particular situation with you guys being drivers for an OO leased on with a carrier, in my mind, you're entitled to whatever they could get out of the shipper. You spent the time and the fuel. Just sucks all around for each of the parties involved.
