Hey, new member here.

What's everyone paying around for commercial insurance for their cargo vans? I currently have a 2014 ram Promaster 3500.

Also what apps/websites does everyone use to find loads for vans?

Thank you in advance!

Lots of variability regarding insurance rates.
Do a search for the word "insurance" & read previous threads. Enjoy ..

My question would be....

are you already in this business? or are you doing research?

If you ARE in this business....These questions should have been researched long before you got into this.

Best of luck...Ken aka OVM

State
Driving record
Vehicle make/model
Your age
Credit history

They'll probably be asking for dna soon. Like I said lots of variability.

Far be it from me to tell anyone how to run their business .. but there' s no way I'd be running a van at today's rates with a $15K annual insurance payment. How much do you actually clear a year after that? Have you done the math? I can't imagine it's more than a job at home.

With that kind of insurance and today’s load rates it is not worth it
I am in search for cheaper state to move
To get lower rates otherwise I am forced to go out of business

No way of determining how much that'll help, if at all.
Good luck ....

Grizzly is correct, with just ONE violation on your record Commercial Insurance may kill your rate anywhere. Have you looked in to signing on with one of the carriers that provide (at your expense) insurance. Usually way cheaper.

Sent from my moto z3 using EO Forums mobile app

Unfortunately the same will apply ...

It'll be more costly for the carrier to have him on their insurance and may make him unemployable.
Speaking to a fleet owner recently, he had to let go of one of his drivers after an accident. The carrier basically told the fleet owner it would be too costly to keep the guy on.
Not to mention the fact that carriers aren't adding vans right now. If someone is hired on by a carrier it's going to be someone with a clean record.

I'd look for other options ....

I'm currently paying $1,111.76 a year on my 2012 Sprinter insured through company.
Over the last 8 years on my 2002 Sprinter it was around $850 a year.
I have this one insured for $4,000 more, maybe I should lower the amount back down now ;)

Bragging about spending less than $1K a year to insure it .... I'd like to see if it's even worth $100 ... lol :pokepoke:
Bragging? Ok, just answering to OP's question: "What's everyone paying?..."
But it ain't bragging if you can....
I have insured for $4,000. But that was a few years ago. Never changed the value. The insurance could be lower I guess.
What do you think? Worth more than a hundred?
It does have some rust around front wheel. But that is from the Michigan winters. That never stopped the slop bucket from making money. Lol.

You should expect to pay around 1000 per month. If you're lucky.
