Park It, Trucks: Here Come New York’s Cargo Bikes (Published 2019)
New York will allow Amazon, DHL and UPS to park cargo bikes in commercial loading zones as a way to get some trucks off the city’s gridlocked streets.

These companies are just trying a different tactic.
NYC isn't the left coast, where companies throw scooters all over the streets and people ooh and ahhh.
They tried robots and NYC said they weren't gonna have any of that. I think it's just a short term fix to get the vehicles/bikes on the streets and then in a couple of years automation will put those bike riders out of jobs.
