Hold the beans plz,I am on a load to Schreiber O.N and looks like i got about 308 miles one way from S.S Marie were i cross and can get some gas,If i go out threw Thunger Bay i wil be ok i've ben there before and can get fuel or gas.If i go back the way i came i wil need some gas,If you've done the rt 17 thing up that way i would welcome the info.

Ok White River has a Husky it used to be 24hrs, Marathon also has fuel but expensive and so is Terrace Bay. Cheapest near going west is Nipigon where 11 &17 hwys meet on the west side of town, there are at least 2 truck stops with 24hrs fuel and restaurants and parking. SS marie to thunder bay is about 450 miles but nipigon is around 65 closer.
The Great Northern road going north out of ss marie has a few truck stops on it so you can fill there and should be able to run all the way to Nipigon without too much trouble.
Watch the weather reports as this time of year going thru the Agawa area (north of ss marie by 40 miles) sudden storms can come in off the lake and close the highway (17) for hours.

Pel, if you return to the U.S. via Thunder Bay stop by Sven and Ole's Pizza in downtown Grand Marais, MN. Or eat breakfast at the S.O.B. (South Of The Border) Cafe just off highway 61.
