So is the U.S. ready for it's first black President? Now it's coming down to crunch time...Are you really going to support a black president?
Why do I ask? What does race have to do with anything? Because underneath all that prime and politically correct finesee, race still counts to alot of people.
Look at Marion Berry....re-elected DC mayor after drug convictions...Why? Cause he's black.

You have to consider the constituency of Washington, DC that re-elected Berry. I doubt that there's too many other places in the US this would have happened.

It is time for all Americans to understand. The only race is the human race. Color means nothing. We all bleed red blood. It is time we do what is right for America. If the color is bothering you. Close you eyes and vote.

It was a question.....just a question NOT my belief....as they say, Someone has to ask the hard questions.

Sorry OVM:
I read it as a question. Are we ready for a black president. Its funny. No one ever ask are we ready for a white president. My answer is I am ready for a president that will listen to the will of the American people and not go off on a Texas tangent, as if hell I will do it my way. Wake up people this is a government by the people for the people. Not for the corporations of America that are still sending our industrial base overseas. We import more than we export. Color matters not. It is the heart behind the person running and his belief in the american people.

Exactly, an opinion thats all I was looking for.... My point does it matter or not...And your view is nay...it matters not.....But i've heard alot of the "n" word being down here in the south for 2 months...

It does still exists there and it is sad. The south will take shock treatment or water boarding to ever change. It's sad but so.

Just stop into any road house honky tonk in the sourthern portion of South Carolina and ask the same question and you will get a very direct answer(the same state that has a problem retireing the Confederate flag). They will throw Hillary into the mix as well. No difference between an "n word "president and "w word "president.
But parade a line of dumb white conservative guys who have sold their souls to Ken Lay types and baby you've got a deal.Fortunatly most Americans see no future with yet another dumb white guy(or even marginally bright white guys) and are looking beyond the stereo types.

For those who have a "problem" with it, these people have much bigger problems in their lives that dictate who they really are as human beings, let alone true Americans. They are the fringe, and should be rejected and censored for what they are and what they represent. The worst of us.

The true colour of life is the colour of the body, the colour of the covered red, the implicit and not explicit red of the living heart and the pulses. It is the modest colour of the unpublished blood.

It is who you put in Congress that you should be worried about not the Commander in Chief!!!! Who cares what color or nationality a person is whether it is a he or a she or maybe even a he/she. LOL. It is whether or not they listen to the people. Power to the People. Big corporations run this country and that is why it is going down hill.

If you care about the issue of color or gender then you are blinding yourself to the possibilities and abilities of that individual. Keep your mind open it is the only way you will widen your window of reference. Peace...

First of all I take offense in people saying racism is a southern problem. I'm sorry I grew up in a town founded by the same man that founded the klan. Funny thing is majority of the town is black. Just to let you "morality cops" from the ethical north and west know everytime there was a klan rally in Forrest City the robe wearers always came from Michigan,Ohio,Indiana,Illinois, and Wisconsin. Plus I've spent quite a bit of time in California. Guess you never heard of the Peckerwoods, huh TallCal? If you haven't they are a California based hate group made up of white males. So please you might want to think before you say racism is a southern problem. The majority of the skinheads are from north of the mason dixon line. I guess you guys think every white male in the south is a white Knight huh? Just to let you know I couldn't get in the klan if I wanted to because I'm not a pure white person. One of my great aunts did some research on our family and found out that my great, great, great grandmother was a black slave. Its all in documents.Plus my dad's dad was full blooded Cherokee. My mother's maternal grandmother was full blooded Seminole. So I can't hate on anyone without hating part of myself. I just get so sick and tired of everytime the whole racism thing comes up everyone looks south instead of looking right at themselves. We are just a scapegoat. Plus t common knowledge that alot of the past problems in the south that occured during this century occured because of people from the north sticking their noses where they didn't belong. Now off my soapbox.

Back on topic. Yes I think we are ready and need a black president. He name isn't Barack Obama though. It's Colin Powell. Plus Obama isn't black he's biracial. Why can't people realize that?

What is your point here. Obama`s mother is white, his father is black. His blood is red, white, and blue.

Well... I wouldn't go THAT far, unless his response to the criticism of him not wearing the American flag lapel was "I don't need a lapel. My blood is red, white, and blue!"

As it stands, from my opinion, his blood is simply red... with little hammers and sickles swimming around in it.

Funny, no one asked if we were ready for a black Joint Chief of Staff or Secretary of State either. They don't matter tho, since they're only Uncle Toms. It's also funny how B. Hussein Obama preached that the Senate needs to be more diverse; yet he campaigned against a black Republican running against a white Democrat in MARYLAND. Fact is, Democrats don't want more diversity in Congress, unless it's DEMOCRATS who are diverse.

Robsdad... congratulations. Now you understand how corporations react when they're overtaxed and overregulated. They go where it's more cost-efficient to do business.

I look at your last sentence, and I cringe. It's obvious you're talking about Obama, and all his talk about hope and change. Need I remind you, B. Hussein also talks about collectively doing this and that. Collective is another word for hive. Hive is another work for commune. Commune as political jargon is Communism. While I don't believe he's for all out Communism, he's definitely Socialist at HEART... which, coincidently, comes back to your last sentence. Wallah!

Tallcal... just one question for you. Who do you think B. Hussein has sold his soul to? Louis FarraKKKhan? I'm more interested in what's on the mind of "he who would be emperor" than a few rednecks at a dusty dive.

Ark...when I read my post and seen I used the word south..I thought of our last conversation.
I knew you'd be chiming in...And again I am sorry about polarizing the issue....I am still an ignorant guy from the north that knows little about black culture and history of Klan.

It's no biggie. It just upsets me because I have always been accused of being a white knight or having babies with my sister. It gets old. People like this clown hdxpedx making a comment like he did in that last sentence doesn't make things any better. I think things have gotten alot better in the south, but I also realize we have a ways to go. There are some people, I believe, who never want to see all issues resolved. I personally can look at my multi racial family tree and tell everyone must not have had a problem with each other. You know what I mean?

Yes, I want change. Can Obama straighten the mess of the last 16 years out. I don't know. I voted for the lines handed out by GW. Look where that has taken this nation. I do not in any way believe taxes are the reason industry is leaving this country. Its wages and profits. Hell GW has given them everything but the kitchen sink. I don't know why they would want to leave. Go to any major metropolitan city and load. The factory's and plants are full of Mex that will work for the wages that allow the front office to get the big bonuses. I do not believe any of our candidates are communists. I do however believe that McCain is a war monger. Each and every person has the right to vote for whom they please. I am just spent with the current system and will take a chance on change over business as usual.
